After about 40 days (10 days after the return period), it stopped responding to the remote and the picture began turning blank more and more frequently until eventually it just stayed blank. Dealing with Westinghouse is a nightmare. It took me several weeks of trying before I was able to speak with anyone. The only responses to my e-mails were auto generated and told me to call the same number that was in the product guide. After paying $80 to have it shipped, it shipped back about two weeks later and it was immediately clear it had not been repaired. When I called Westinghouse, after being on hold for 20 minutes the representative I spoke to could not have been ruder, I honestly think there is a warrantee process designed to give customers the run around until they give up. Have had it installed for 3 weeks now. Previous TV was a LCD from Samsung that I had for about 3 years, and this particular TV is a replacement for that Samsung. At the time I bought it from BB, they were having a two day sale on all TV in stock, so I got this particular TV at a much reduced price. Since I have a small apartment and a small living room, this 32 inch TV is the perfect size for my small apartment living space. I would give this TV a five, but the reason I am giving this a four star rating is because when you switch between SD and HD channels, the TV gives you a message saying "Detecting Signal" for about 10 seconds before the picture come up. The Samsung I had before this one, didn't have that problem going from a 480i SD signal to a 1080i HD signal. This is my only complaint about this model. I am running Netflix(at HD, I might add) and blurays from my player to this TV and it produces a great clear picture.I run the regular broadcast thru a coax cable so the picture is what it is. I am no audiophile so the sound seems fine to me. I have the volume up about 1/8 and the mrs complain its too loud downstairs. Go figure. Besides, its hard to crank up the volume with kids sleeping a few feet away. I hear there are problems with this brand so I purchased a warranty to be on the safe side. |
