To give a TV a low rating because the shipper damaged the box is totally misleading. Also, the other low rating came because they had to call the 800 number to get the tuner code. I did this too and it was super easy and took about 3 minutes. Now, to actually rate the TV instead of other petty complaints. It has a good picture for the price. I actually got the TV new for $375. It was by far the cheapest TV for the size and actually turned out to be better than I expected. Remember, you get what you pay for. However, in this case I think I got a little more value than I paid for. 1080P, 120Hz, all the specs of much more expensive TVs. So, if you're on a budget like I was when I bought this TV, I'd say give it a shot. 5 of 7 people found the following review helpful:  Good hardware, bad software, By This review is from: Westinghouse LD4065 40-Inch LED 1080p 120Hz HDTV (Electronics) This device has a really good picture and a decent sound, but the tuner and the software are just awful. First, to activate the tuner you need to call technical support and get a 5-digits pin number -- one for ATSC tuner, and another for QAM. It does not go smoothly -- the first QAM pin did not work and I had to call customer service several times to get a replacement. Only the forth number was successful.The channel scanning takes about one hour, and if you say that you need to do it just once -- you would be wrong! The biggest problem this TV has is that when you change the channels they get disappear from the list created during the scanning. It happens randomly, you never know which channel will be deleted next, but it is inevitable ongoing process. After an hour or so you will notice that the list of the channels is about half of its original size. Once the channel is deleted from the list you can not select this channel any more, even if you know the number and dial it... Read more |
